Eligibility:
If you suffer from a chronic disability and are Medicaid eligible, you may apply for and receive personal care at home instead of at an institution such as a nursing home or long term care facility. Receiving care at the comfort of your own home will
lead to long term benefits for your overall health, both mentally and physically. Best of all, Medicaid helps cover most if not all of the expenses in home care service. This means you pay a low cost or no cost at all.
To be eligible for Medicaid, you must be a U.S. national, citizen, permanent resident, or legal alien, in need of health care/insurance assistance, whose financial situation would be characterized as low income or very low income.
You must also be one of the following:
- Pregnant, or
- Be responsible for a child 18 years of age or younger, or
- Blind, or
- Have a disability or a family member in your household with a disability, or
- Be 65 years of age or older.
